TopScan turns camera-enable mobile-phones into universal code scanners, enabling it to read 2d-codes (Data Matrix) or 1d-codes (barcodes).

How it works

With TopScan no additional hardware is needed since it uses mobile-phones low-cost incorporated digital cameras to decode 1d and 2d codes.

The data collection stage occurs through the use of mobile-phone integrated camera that instantly and accurately read, capture and decipher the information contained in the code. After that, takes place the request stage by sending automatically (or not) via SMS, http or https the retrieved information to the appropriate host. Finally the delivery stage makes available the requested information in the mobile-phone.

TopScan allows several applications related with mobility only by scanning a code.

Using TopScan its possible for example to request the latest information or place orders regarding a product or a service just by reading a code in a magazine, on an advertisement, on a placard , on a picture, in a bill, on a poster or directly on the product.
